Little storyteller

Nora is quite the talker these days. Here's a video from yesterday of her sitting on the couch like a big girl, reading her book. Cutie.

And some cute pictures from these past few weeks:

Going for a walk with the new Ergo carrier (thanks Eden and Kevin!):

Fell asleep on the couch:

This is Nora's new thing...we think she's beginning to teeth and it must feel good to bite her lower lip - it sure does look cute!

The First 4 Months!

Naomi's in the Cuyahoga Valley today for a work retreat, so Nora & I have our second day of one-on-one time and it just happens to be her 4-month birthday! Presently, she's taking nose dives at the keyboard... not sure if she's trying to help with the typing or tell me she's bored as hell. I can't see how the latter would be possible, as we just went through a bunch of pictures in order to make the second slideshow (at right) for the blog, this one a kind of summary of her first 4 months.

It's crazy how much happens in 4 months! From the first days, when her face was puffy and her head still showed the signs of the 4 hours of pushing that brought her into this world, to the recent days when we've felt like we're having actual conversations with her... every moment has been a wonder, whether we realized it at the time or not! As you can see in the previous post, she looks a lot like Naomi did when she was this age, but I hear that she has my eyes. We'll have to get some baby shots of me up here sometime...

Nora's been over to see her newest friend Mae a few times recently and we'll get pictures of that up too. She's been spending time with Melissa and Grandma Bongorno during the week while Naomi's at the Nature Center and has been over to Great Grandma Miller's apartment twice now for some good conversation, but mostly for napping.

Look for more pictures soon!

At least she didn't get my ears!

Can you tell which pictures are of Nora and which are of Naomi?

Side-Splitting

Nora is too much sometimes... check out this bout of laughter and see if you don't find yourself at least smiling. If you're like me, you'll find that your belly hurts by the end because you've caught the giggles yourself!

Making this video even funnier is the fact that this was her second outburst in about 5 minutes. I missed the first one with the camera, but I had it in hand when the second one started. She's a riot! Now, for a few more pictures...

This one is from last week, when daddy had his first stay-at-home day with Nora (yes, I picked her outfit!)

More from Great Lakes that I couldn't help but post:

This one's from our recent visit to Dish Global Deli, before hitting Cleveland Public Art for Nora's first gallery opening!

15 weeks...

Hi all,

It's been a while since I've posted...sorry for the delay. Nora is 15 weeks as of yesterday. I can't believe how quickly it's gone. As you can see from last week's video she's quite the talker lately! We have many conversations throughout the day - she knows when to listen and when to pipe in, which amazes me. She's also beginning to enjoy books more and will verbally let me know when it's time to turn the page. She has also made big leaps in her tummy time, as you'll see below (I couldn't pick just one from the "doggy series"...they're all too cute!). Crawling is just around the corner...yikes.

I also have some new news on the job front. Unfortunately, my job at the Clinic doesn't seem like it will work with my new schedule (being spend the most time possible w/ Nora and Chris). So, I start a new job as a part-time grant writer w/ the Nature Center at Shaker Lakes next week! The people there are really nice and I'll be able to work from home - too good to be true. I find it pretty funny that I'll finally be using that Environmental Studies degree! :) I'll stay in touch w/ the Clinic and hopefully help out here and there when possible b/c they've been very good to me. Best of both worlds...

And now, on to the pictures!

Grandma Linda and Kevin stopped by for a visit last weekend...

Nora had her first trip to Great Lakes Brewery...

Enjoying some of their finest (or, smelling it at least!)...

Talking, on our walk after Great Lakes...

Nora is all tired out after a walk...

As you can see above, Nora's been practicing her conversation skills with her furry flying friends. She's become quite the wordsmith, which has helped her (and mommy) to some high scores on the Scrabble board:

And how about this cute new outfit? Thanks Liz!

She knows a lot of good jokes... mostly about poop:
