Sights and sounds

We had a busy weekend, during which Nora had her 10-month Birthday (yay!), she saw her first dance performance (well, first professional dance performance), and she learned a new sound. Last week she also got her first head wound (headfirst dive into a plastic train - it'll do it every time) and survived to tell the tale...such a tough little lady.

She's been dancing a lot lately, but we've yet to really catch it on video. We'll keep trying. She's also able to stand up without support for a good second or two, until she realizes what she's doing and grabs for the nearest leg or falls on her butt. She's hilarious and definitely keeps me on my toes and makes me laugh all the time.

Here are some pictures from Verb Ballet's dance performance (part of the Arts in August event):

We ran into the Garlands there - Will liked to find Cheerios for Nora and made sure she had her sippy cup at all times. Nora was not quite sure about Will's intentions...why, after all, wouldn't he have eaten the Cheerio unless there was something wrong with it? What a critical thinker...

And, here's Nora showing off her new sound! Too cute...

Saint Max

Our little Nora is really getting around (and into everything) these days! She's a lot to keep up with, but it's all worth it to see the look on her face when she discovers something new all on her own. One of her favorite new discoveries is Mr. Max, or Saint Max as I have recently coined him. He's so good with her and she's learning to be gentle. :) Here's a video of one of their daily "dances":

Tish and Morgan sitting in a tree...

We got back early Tuesday morning from our trip to Santa Cruz. We had a really wonderful time, getting to see many friends and witness Tish and Morgan's wedding! There are, of course, many pictures (that you can see here) from the week, but here are some highlights!

Eli, Nora and Tiger take a little break:

The fam at the beautiful cliff-front wedding:

I said I would never put Nora in a headband, but gosh dang it (yes, I said gosh dang it) this was was just too cute to pass up!

Tish and Morgan exchange rings:

Congrats to the beautiful couple!

Up and down

So, we're back from our week in CA - we had a fabulous time and will soon post lots of pictures. But before that I wanted to share a cute video of Nora last week of her learning how to get down once she's gotten up (a tricky lesson). I love watching her mind work...pretty amazing. Now she can squat down and stand back up in one motion!

Cucumbers? Not so much.

Apparently, Nora is not a fan of cucumbers.

Nora enjoyed Wade Oval Wednesday this week...she's such a good people watcher.

And yesterday we got to hang out in the Boyd's pool! She's a waterbaby through and through.

We're off to CA this Weds for Tish and Morgan's wedding! We'll be back next Monday, so if we don't post before then we'll be sure to update you all once we're home! Have a great week!

3-step program

This is what we did this morning. 1. stand on tiptoes 2. get toy 3. drop toy - and repeat.

And here are a few from the other day. Bald babies in dresses make me smile - apparently, being one makes Nora smile too.

Notice the teeth!
