St Patrick's Day

For the 3rd year in a row we walked in the parade with UCI, and for the 3rd year in a row it was a beautiful day.

Nora got to meet a real cheerleader!

Is there anything sweeter than a little girl running to her Papa?!

Nora, pretending a stick is a deer antler.

Sweet sweet faces.

Holding Lincoln...

A nice run on the pier a cute duck spotting rounded out the day nicely.

Happy St Paddy's Day!

Snowwoman

It took until March for us to get a dose of good snowman making snow. Nora was so excited all winter, but with every snow we'd test it and it was always too fluffy or too sparse or too icy. So, when we got a nice bit of sticky snow Nora and I quickly bundled up to go make her first snowman. Turns out, making a snowman is pretty hard! I didn't remember it being so tiring and I don't have the stamina to make one as big as I did as a kid. So, we settled on a kid-sized one. I don't think Nora minded.

Showing off our lady!

As much as I was/am sick of the snow, it always warms my heart to Nora out really enjoying it. Pretty special.

These don't have anything to do with snowpeople, but they're very cute (thank you very much) and Lisi's eyes have a bit of an ice blue hue, yes?

Little teeth get me every time!

I often carry Elise on my back while cooking, but one night Nora was needing a little extra Mama-time so up she went. She loved it and I'm always (well, usually) happy to have a bit more baby time with my big girl who is so quickly morphing into a lovely little lady. What a lucky Mama I am.

And, the little one - she is charming everyone she comes into contact with. What a little ray of sunshine. This month has seen Elise going from taking a few steps on her own, to walking from object to object. She's funny, though, b/c when she needs to walk anywhere more than 4-5 steps away she requires a finger to hold onto - I think it's mostly b/c she refuses to slow down and can't yet run on her own. Whatever the reason, it's pretty cute and incredibly endearing. Here she is during a solo trip:

In closing, I am REALLY glad that the snow season is coming to an end. This winter has just about pushed me over the edge. I think the government should subsidize a mass exodus of people w/ young kids to a warmer climate during the last 2 months of winter. The Floridians can come stay in our houses and get some fun in the snow! A girl can dream, right?
