For the momentous event on the 1st we went out for pizza and ice cream in Tremont, which is always a good time.
Then we went to YS for the weekend, where we enjoyed visiting with family and seeing lots of old friends and their beautiful families at my 15th high school reunion! The picnic (see picture, below) started off lovely, then Nora burned her hand on the grill and had a complete meltdown, which is why she's not in the picture (actually, all of us with 2 kids only managed to get 1 of them into the picture...you do what you can, right?). Despite the burn (which, post-meltdown, Nora dealt with like a champ and allowed it to heal without picking at it once), it was a lot of fun to see everyone and meet their wonderful spouses and adorable kiddos.
Back home, we enjoyed some time in the pool to beat the July heat.
Elise isn't a fan of the cold water just yet, but she loves to hang out in the shade!
Elise has been getting better and better at sitting up and Nora loves to bring her toys now that she's a little more interactive. She loves this game so much, in fact, that little Elise is practically buried in toys by the end of it!
Nora's imaginative play has been amazing lately and she loves to tell elaborate stories and direct me in playing my part. Case in point, we had a lovely horse wedding in our living room the other day...she set this up all on her own...mohawk horse is the groom and the zebra is officiating. Unfortunately, the horses called the wedding off just before the "I do's" and the groom ran away with the giraffe (not pictured, for obvious reasons). It was a drama filled day.
While we love big celebrations, we also enjoy a good naked day at home!
And we love dressing up in matching head scarves and making silly faces. :)
