She is as cute as ever and has a wonderful happy spirit (with a healthy dose of sass). She is VERY close to crawling - getting up on all fours and moving her arms forward. I think we'll have another mobile girl within weeks.
She's doing so many things, I think a list is in order. So, Elise, at 9 months of age you:
1. laugh easily and have a heart meltingly beautiful smile, which you share generously with just about anyone
2. refuse to take a bottle (I had my first full day away from her yesterday and she went 9 hours without eating!), but is getting less gaggy with mushed up food and LOVE gnawing on whole apples
3. have your two bottom middle teeth (got those over a month ago) and seem to be working on some more
4. are awesome on the potty and could definitely stay clean/dry all day if I was able to really focus on it (but who the heck has the time?!)
5. have as much hair at 9 mo as Nora did at about 16 mo!
6. are probably about 20 lbs - we'll see at your next appt in a week or so
7. can pull up to your knees on your own and to standing with a little help
8. are very chatty - bababa, dadada, mamama, datdatdat, deydeydey, aaaaaa, and lot of raspberries, tongue clicks and growling
9. sleep for 12 hours a night, usually from 6-6 or 6:30-6:30...you're an early riser and, although I am not, I still very much enjoy our early mornings together, just you and me and coffee, before the rest of the house starts buzzing
10. are a complete joy to be around - your happy soul fills my cup on even the toughest days
